Ramps for Grammy

Genevieve loves Grammy. As a result, she is very aware of ramps. With her building blocks, she will announce, “I’m building ramps for Grammy.” Walking up the stairs to the apartment, with broad arm movements and sound effects, she says she is turning the stairs into a ramp for Grammy so "she can come to my house and play with me". Visiting me at work (Valvoline), she climbed up the steps to the entrance and exclaimed, “A ramp! Grammy can come to your work”! When she finds any food that is vaguely triangular (usually tofu or bread), it becomes a ramp. She then plays with her food (which drives me a little batty); with a hand or a bean or a spoon being her and another being Grammy. On a walk home from Aunt Sharon's house, we encountered a spot with no ramp. "Oh no! There is no --no..." She could not verbalize what she was thinking, so, I helped her out and said that the cut-away in the curb was missing. She said that it was not very nice and why did summa-body do that? She then said Grammy can't come here. Our little advocate.
